Depois do ateliê foi organizado uma exposição no CCFM, o Centro Cultural Franco Moçambicano com os trabalhos realizados pelos alunos da ENAV. aqui vão umas imagens (Obrigado Graça e Lauriane pelas fotos).

Following the Illustration workshop, an exhibition of the artworks done by the students of ENAV has been organized at the CCFM, the Franco Mozambican Cultural Center. Here are some pictures.

Ateliê de ilustração na ENAV, Maputo 1 - Illustration worshop at ENAV, Maputo 1

Ateliê de ilustração com um grupo de 20 jovens do 2o ano da ENAV, Escola de Artes Visuais de Maputo. A Liberdade de expressão foi o tema escolhido para umas belas Ilustrações realizadas com papel cortados, guache, lápis de cor e canetas de filtro. Esse ateliê foi organizado no âmbito das celebrações dos 10 anos da Francofonia em Moçambique pelo CCFM, Centro Cultural Franco Moçambicano e a ENAV. Um grande abraço a todos os participantes, ao Marc Brebant (fantástico director do CCFM) e Jorge Dias (Director da ENAV), assim como ao pessoal de ambas instituições.

Illustration workshop with a group of 20 students from the second year of ENAV, School of Visual Arts in Maputo, Mozambique. Freedom of expression was the chosen theme for this workshop. During 5 days, students worked beautifully with cut paper, gouache, colored pencils and colored markers. This workshop was organized as part of the celebrations of 10 years of Francophonie in Mozambique by CCFM, Centro Cultural Franco Mozambican and ENAV. Many thanks to All participants, to Marc Brebant (director of CCFM) and Jorge Dias (Director of ENAV), as well as the staff of both institutions.

Strange as it may seem and too busy doing other stuff, this is the first time in 8 years that I do my self promotion in the US. Well, first test concluded!

Some other black/white illustrations made for ChiliComCarne, have been recently selected as runner-up in Creative Quaterly #42. Happy to know that I'm in good company with Portuguese friends and Mica student like talented Nan Cao

Lexington Market - Watercolor sketches

With my watercolor class, wetwetdrywatercolor.blogspot.com we spent a good time at the Lexington Market in Baltimore. The market is one of the longest-running markets in the world, having been around since 1782.

The band at the Lexington Market. Hey man, no tourist-oriented attractions here, this is serious matter. Around noon we listened to a fabulous band and did a lot of sketches.
